Peace as a way of life

Peace.
It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. It means to be in the midst of those things and still be calm in your heart.

This quote was a little cryptic, but it actually represents a pretty deep insight I had at the UU general assembly in Charlotte, NC.

There, they had hundreds of booths about different groups within the UU. One was on peace.

Generally when I think about the word, I think about it in two ways: one in the way you mention and two in the broader context of not war or class strife.

After speaking with them, he said no, peace is a way of life that permeates how we deal with others. That peace should dictate how we respond to in the context of relationships, with employers, to our pets, to the environment. In this context it is admittedly closer to love, but for some reason it seemed much more obtainable (as a way of life) than when I used the word peace.
